Don't give up, be like me and 'never surrender' and you will get there. That being the case simply have the bearings honed out to suit your crank. If the engine is for display more than work than it will run another 80 years, if going back to work and under long full loads you will possibly get another 12 years. Use good clean oil to the correct grade recommended for your climate because here in Australia we run thicker oil in the Summer than you would in the Winter. I use SAE30 or similar on my Lister.

Beautiful workmanship and design. I have seen a very similar shape from the late 1950 to early 1960's of a professional fishing boat driven using a British Seagull outboard. A one man show would use it for prawning in the lakes and rivers near Coffs Harbour. A mate of mine bought it as a restoration project and got it to the same level of finish then sold it off to a Museum.

This was never built to sell I'm working on the paddle at the moment it's far from perfect but will do me
The engineer has been to measure the crank -40 will do he's going to hold the shells in the lathe and use a cylinder honing tool to remove 0.05 thou off each it won't be used everyday only when I need to pull something outside of the workshop thanks again
Wish I was at coffs harbour fishing

Sounds like a very good plan and best way to resolve your problem. That repair will last for a very long time. Hope to see some progress when it happens and take care of yourself too.

Hi Vince, glad that you are on the mend and back in action. Sorry I have not offered any help with the gibb head keys as I have had endless trouble logging in etc but now all good again.
With posting videos I post them on my YouTube account then add the link here. It is the easiest way I know how. Look forward to seeing some pics and possible video.
