That is possibly maybe Komatsu.
Working on the same site as the Hitachi EX455 machine (picture posted on the Hitachi excavator thread), however these have no model numbers on them, a number of hire companies tend to do this which makes identification a little on the difficult side. Especially so considering I took these shots across from the other side of the river Tyne...
Thompsons of Prudhoe seem to be quite fond of large Komatsu excavators, I've seen several PC600LC's and PC750LC's on large demolition projects over the last couple of years, although interesting enough never seen long reaches on them, only on CAT 350L's.
Anyway, all feedback is welcome!

Hitachi 470 indeed - just lacking the familiar orange (which if were kept would give the firm a better resale value incidently!)

given the state ive seen old o'briens machines at the end of their life...the paints the least of their worries!
we took an old EX750 down to a dealer..it'd take a brave man to take that on!!!!
