Hi,
I'm looking for some help with my pedestrian roller if possible please. Its an MBR71, with electric start. Basically the Vibrate function only works intermiddently.
The Bolts holding the clutch bearing in place were very worn, so they've been replaced which has closed the gap between the clutch plate and the top pulley to a "normal " spacing. I hoped this had cracked the problem but its hasn't. The Vibrate still only works intermittently. It can vibrate for a minute, then will stop for 3, on for 1, off for 3 and so on. I've tried various things... At one point I adjusted the clutch plate so that when vibrate is engaged it physically slows the engine down.
It seems to me that there is a a seized/semi seized bearing on the shaft which is driven by the drive belt. Its stiff when I try to turn it with a pair of grips. i've never stripped one of these down, and although I have an exploded parts view, I cant see what might be the problem.
I was hoping someone had come across something similar in the past and might be able to point me in the right direction.
thankyou in advance
Phil

Hi Phil and welcome I am sure there will be some good advice on here to help you with this issue although if you have a seized bearing you may have hit upon the problem yourself.

Hello
Although I dont have the answer to your question if you want I can send you an operators manual for your Roller which may be of some use. Also if anyone wants a parts manual just give me the VIN and I'll send you the correct book for your machine. The MBR is still being built today (I sit 30 yards from the production line) we were bought out last year and are now known as Mecalac (was Benford then Terex).
Regards
Andy

Hi, sorry can't help with that specific question but you may want my details as somebody else with an MBR71!
We are in the process of rebuilding one and the pulley belt is slack. I can see no way of tensioning it so thinking maybe the rubber roller mounts have failed?
Does anyone agree?
The shaft supporting the lower pulley is off centre, which also made us think down these lines?
Anyone, had any luck replacing the mounts?
Cheers

Hi Andy and Jeremy,
I'm really sorry I just noticed by chance the notifications of reply were heading into junk.
I've done nothing more with it... sounds like a logical place to have a look. With a bit of luck I might get some time on it over the weekend.
Your offer would be gratefully received Andy, I'll get the details tomorrow and upload, I'm just terribly embarrassed I've not acknowledged your reply sooner
I do want to roll the drive at home, but the vibrate aspect does such a good job, i could do with getting it fixed
Thankyou again, I'll post more tomorrow
Phil

Any chance you might be able to supply a parts manual to me. Having issues also. It seems the bearings might have colapsed in the vibration generator in mine.
Cheers regards Lee.
