Okay folks I have decided to make this a bi-monthly competition as it allows more time for people to take photo's; this competition judge is 'Explo' so lets have your two entries please.

Okay lets kick things off with this photo taken today of an old Hymac 590 which is quite a rare beast these days.

Nice find Jeremy, The two piece boom is unusual it also looks really short, Gamble of Wothing had a 590 and quite a few 580c as well i remember the tacking the top of a railway tunnel out and turning it into an open cutting on what is now the East Grinstead A22 slip road.

David most if not all 590's were fitted with the two piece boom, it was the 590C that had the monobloc boom similar to the 580C, this boom does appear to be short but I think it's an optical illusion. The 590 had the triple in-line hydraulic pump system whereas the 590C had the variable speed type pump system, this 590 is for sale if anybody is interested? It came from Abbey Skips on the isle of Wight.

Since we are going to be combining 2 months into one how about upping the amount of photos to 3 or 4 that can be entered??
