Model mudguards

If your like me and want to make models look as damn near perfect as Is possible then I have finally found a product to make scaled mudguards. I've been searching for years, trying different products and failing, I was at the point of thinking that there wasn't anything out there to make the mudguards. One day I had a brainwave and typed rubber mats into E-bay and thinking it was another brick wall was over the moon, not only to find rubber mats but in different thicknesses. I chose 0.5mm thick sheet and its working perfect. The sheets come in sizes of 300mm x 300mm or 500mm x 500mm. the cost of the 300x300 sheet was about a fiver, so It didn't break the bank. If my maths are correct 0.5mm would be 25mm thick in 1/1 scale. Is this right. I don't use the rubber mat on highway trucks but for construction machinery I think it looks damn nice.

That's what I'm using it for among other models.

Renaultman,

have you tried bicycle tubes? This was my first idea reading this topic.

Good thinking! you can get really thin race light innertubes, they should be thin enough, normal bike tubes may be a little thick.
