Apparently there's another engine on the other side of the pulley. I remember going to a steam fair in Sussex - probably late 70's - rained out on the Saturday, so they had set up a lot of exhibits including a similar engine and bench in an indoor riding school arena. They were doing an almost identical demonstration with huge logs being craned on with a Unimog. The noise, smoke, soot, dust, plus lack of guards and PPE would have had 'elf'n'safety suffering double incontinence!
