Let's deal with those swivel couplings first. They were a pain in the neck. On this age of machine, even if you got the seals (and each seal is a kit with various seals and two backing rings) they probably wouldn't seal because the swivel part wears grooves in the stationary part. Absolutely fine when they were new but I used to put new pipes on, similar to what JCB had started to do, i.e. making them go round the kingpost. Have a look at a newer digger.
Those bolts ? I'm not sure what's going on here. Someone seems to be substituting those bolts for the proper clamp bolts. Could you send us some more photos. of the area involved. This was of course before hydra-clamps were introduced. It doesn't look as if your digger has been pushed across the slide rails recently but I don't understand why they have got these extra bolts. I can see from inside the cab that the backing plate for the proper bolts isn't against the frame.
