Well I finally got back to this job and all that is left to do now is to re-seal the ram, get another pin, and put the whole damn lot back together again !

I finally got back to this job and the following is a sequence of events ! All that is left to do now is to re-seal the ram, buy a new pin, and then put the whole damn lot back together !! The bottom of the piston is very badly corroded but this doesn't retract back into the cylinder, it lies in all the crap and that is why the chrome has pretty much disappeared. I have to buy a new pin because this pin has a hole in the middle for the retaining bolt and all pins are case hardened and I doubt I would be able to drill it, otherwise I have pins that would have done the job.

EDIT. Don't follow the procession on Photobucket. The piccies are in the wrong order. Keep coming back here and click on the next one. Actually I discovered today that when you land on Photobucket if you click on the picture that you are looking at then they run in the correct sequence but if you click on the forward (right) arrow they don't.
