It's impressive how well that stuff works.
The low spots weren't too bad, but the high spots were a bit sharp. I needed to "soften" the edges.
I found a fine oil Stone good on slightly raised marks.
Gland seals can be quite forgiving. The old Weatherill shovel, that I still have, stood unused for several years. I am not sure if the rods were ever chromed. I am going back to late 70s when it was 25 years old. When I revived it the glands soon tore out. I had a pig of job splitting the rams (never could get the cylinder off). I used various grades of emery on an old orbital sander. Dad was dubious, but the rams went back with new seals and worked quite hard for years loading hay and straw.
