If I'm not mistaken, that is part of Celtic's Hitachi EX1900

Hello Paul
I think your are right,it was heading towards Onllwyn which is a Celtic energy site.I used to go up there often on jobs but its out of my "patch" now.
There is a very long climb up the valley to get to that site.Graham told me they removed a lot of bits to decrease weight for transport. But I guess its still over 100 tonne.
Graham may be able to give more detail when he is on CMN next.
The last but one photo looks to be at the start of the climb. Its around 3 or 4 mile to get up the mountain.
Cheers
Martyn

yes paul you are correct in order to decrease the weight we removed the front end /cab/ &ballast weight we estimated that the base came down to approx 120 tons making a gross weight of around 170 ;) tons.whilst climbing banwen hill the fuel reading was 0.3 miles per gallon and the 620 scania worked really well.
regards graham.

Hello Graham
Great photos  I know those roads very well, any near misses? as it must have been hard to navigate those roads with all the double parking.
Will post the rest over the weekend for you.
Will give you a ring on Saturday.

Graham, thanks for the info. What is the capacity of the 2 beam 5 Nooteboom? You must be getting very close to its limit :dizzy:

Cheers
Paul
