I had forgotten about the K series. Evolved from the Trader bonneted (normal control in my old Ladybird book). On looking up just now, apparently the cab type was German origin. The old long bonnets carried on well into the 60s with the Ford K, the Bedford J and BMC WF. They must have been well past sell by dates at the end.

1998 last of the J Series !!

I appreciate that a rail bridge is designed to withstand force from above rather than below, the fact that the faceshovel has all but destroyed the bridge without falling off it's trailer is a little worrying.
