I meant to look earlier but I had not realised the bridge under construction was the Orwell bridge that opened in 1982. I guess the photo is a year or two earlier? Quite an impressive photo with the Danish full rigger going underneath. I have been lucky enough to sail under the bridge a few times but still did not recognise.

My guess, no. Apparently Ransomes went out of dragline production in the 60s but re-entered with large walking draglines in the 70s.

It is a Renault AHN from the 1940's.
Maybe thats why someone took the pic ?

I guess the quarry dumpers are tipped by an overhead crane? To me there's a touch of 'KW Dart' about them. I like the hopeful fitting of mirrors that will never see anything except the front of the trailer.
The future's bright.. Bright red and grey that is.

Looks like it could be a side tip to me as there appears to be what looks like an outrigger on the trailer in the second photo? Two Hy-mac's in the photos too, the monochrome photo shows a 580BT.

Loads of crawler loaders in these old pics , now we see none.
I suppose 360s can do all the work.
Abroad you see loads of wheel loaders on construction sites but here you see none , however they do not seem to use dumpers much.

The Scandinavians like the wheeled loaders and often have different buckets available including wide shallow buckets that can be angled/levelled.
