Nice 3CII, looks like an earlier model but not sure as I can't see well enough.

Re: Classic pictures Updated 27/07/2024
Early 1968 3c mk2 had the early swept back cabs like the 2D, then from 69 they had the larger cab round lights for indicators this ran up to about 72 still yellow cabs you could have the tinted glass or Carbbean as they were known. Late 72 the cab colour changed to white, By 73 the lights were now rectangular, Like you say there were lots of other changes over the years, I remember the first batch of mark 3's coming out with the taller cab and revised steps steering wheel changes gearbox mods the very last 3c mk 3 carried a lot of items that were tested for the 3cx the rest is history as they say,

I would reckon 70-72 but can't see enough parts for more. The Powertrain 3CIII's were very different from anything that had gone before, as you say to test stuff for the 3CX. The manual gearbox changed from 130302 (August 78) when the skid changed to a Leyland 272 rather than a 384 which was a direct evolution of the original Nuffield. Previous boxes were 10 forward 2 reverse, the new ones were 9 forward 3 reverse synchromesh (not reverse).
The swept back cab was replaced when they found drivers of Mk1 3C's hitting the windscreen when they stood up to see better in the early Mk2's.

Some items were a direct swap. We changed the long loader arms of our Mk11 onto our Powertrain.

Even modern buckets will still fit (but not suggesting it's a good idea). The High lift loader I think appeared in 70 and were available till the end with no changes. Many parts were unchanged but many others were, and some can't be changed individually but can as an assembly. The repair manual and Julian Carder's book are the best books I know for this (not to mention dealer parts books, but they seem to be difficult to find).

The digger in the mixer pic looks a bit of an animal, and some Foden 4000 action. Nice!
The penultimate photo with the "Kilsaran Concrete" mixer truck also contains a Bucyrus-Erie or more likely Ruston-Bucyrus branded Dynahoe backhoe loader which R-B marketed and then manufactured for a time in the UK with mixed success.

In the transcontinental pic, I've always wondered how the cabs of older tractors stay on when going backwards at 60, or the glass doesn't blow out.
