Silencer wanted for JCB801

Hi.

I have an early JCB 801. I think it's a 1989/1990.
I'm looking for a silencer, with gasket if possible. It's a 3 cylinder Perkins engine, serial number KD50316J24038S. Engine type is KD103.10. JCB list part number as 231/40007. I'm happy to fit an alternative that might need a little tweaking. All help very much appreciated.

Cheers

Ian

Have you tried the nearest JCB agent for a starting point? You could try Vicary Plant. All spares seem expensive now.

Thanks. I've emailed Vicary, Dale is going to have a look tomorrow. It has split around the weld on the silencer/exhaust manifold flange pipe. This suggests a metal fatigue failure through vibration. I'm considering brazing it which would also, I think, anneal the silencer metal.

Are the engine mounts OK?

Yes. Two have recently been replaced. I suspect the failed mounts led to the metal fatigue. I've had it confirmed the silencer is now obsolete. I've also managed to get it welded.
