Re: Helicopter crashes into crane
No not on them any longer i got out before the recession and before the rates got mullered down to £8.00 an hour i don't know if things have improved much now, i know some blokes that are working weekdays on tower cranes then operating 360's at weekends to make their money up, i still fancy doing it again but will wait until things pick up more.

From the last pics it looks as thought the counterweights are off.

Re: Helicopter crashes into crane
It will be a slow job, as modelman says the counterweights are off so at least the crane is no longer counter jib heavy, i am not sure if the hook block is still attached, if not that has to come off and the luffer and hoist ropes will need to be re-wound back onto the drums. The remains of the cab will come off and then the jib.

Re: Helicopter crashes into crane
Is there a reason why the last jib section is painted blue ? Is it for sighting by the operator, or because its just the end section and not to get it mixed up during erection to go in the right order ?
