I have a sharper picture somewhere, but I can't find it on this moment.

It could be an Smith 8 but most likely a Smith 7.

Never yet failed to spot old plant at a preserved railway , Embsay and Bolton Steam Railway have this Smith crane (without jib ) , next stop may be scrap though .

Below is a link to an old corporate profile video for the whole of Northern Engineering Industries PLC (NEI)- the video is undated, but the financial information shown goes up to/including 1982. From the 7:24 mark the 'Mechanical Group' encompassing NEI Clarke Chapman, NEI Cranes and NEI Thompson is covered. Smith-Rodley is mentioned briefly at the 8 minute mark with two photos.
By this time I believe NEI Cranes encompassed Clarke Chapman/John Boyd/Clyde Crane/Wellman Booth/Arrol and Smith-Rodley.
