A chance appeared today to finally get the trailer home.
Got home, and as I've got a show on Sunday and don't want to get tractor dirty I unhooked the trailer and got busy with the steam cleaner in the hope of removing the flaky paint to discover it appears to have had the underside and frame painted with either tar or underseal. A lot has peeled off but some is still firmly attached so another simple job that's not to be.
So having dispatched umpteen years of cruddola from the chassis we had a look at the oil leaks. Amazingly, both leaks appeared to be simple loose unions so an easy fix. Hitched up again, trailer tips with no leaks, great. Then the pipe burst giving a perfect arcing shower of oil over the tractor, front to back, and the window was open so you can guess the rest!
I wonder what I'll be doing tomorrow?

Best place to start might be 'Fergie Trailer Shop'. Beyond that I don't know.

Hindsight wonderful but always keep your rear window shut when using the rear external hydraulics or doing crappy filthy jobs. I was told and reminded years ago on my student farm. One guy was tipping an old 3 ton with a virtually brand new IH 84 Hydro. Not only did he get covered but the cab interior was never the same again, covered in Hytrans.

Like that Power Major, strange light mounting though. Especially as I can't see any sign of there having been a loader. I'm sure there would be people going for both types of weather!
