Seems a bit unfortunate, at least you know what happened.

Thanks Sandy.
Pete, I think the veering term is much like most things rural - every farm or village, has almost it's own language for just about everything.
A simple water trough. Here it's pronounced 'troff', 10 miles up the road it's 'trow', go 5 miles the other way it's a 'drinker'!
A fork is a fork, yes? try 'prong', 'drag' or 'crombe'.
Locally, a 'bramble' or 'bramble tooth'? A 2 person crosscut saw.
I'll let you take a guess at 'dyke dibber', and yes I do have one.

Dyke - a large ditch
Dibber - a short spike used for planting tubers or bulbs.

When I worked near Barton Stacey, troughs were trows.

Today's unplanned entertainment - road brush duty.

Maize trailers + soft ground + previous wet weather = mess. I suspect the brush is about the same age as the tractor - wheel driven, just drag it along. Even I can manage that. :eh:
