Seems the Government are looking to change the British summer time .. they are seeking to put the clocks forward 2 hours next summer and back an hour in October meaning lighter evenings all year round, however this will leave the mornings not getting light till 9am in the winter down here in the south ... How will this effect the construction industry and how much will affect those of you living up north ?

People living in the North would not be happy with this proposal. But the governments of all colours think the North is Watford anyway
Construction sites tend to start up at 0700/0800,farmers are out in the very early hours to start their daily tasks.
Don't know how it will work out, perhaps a trial period and see what happens.

It was used in the second world war two - double summer time was the terminolgy as far as I know.
Regarding daylight, the sun still does its thing and you still have just the same amount of daylight/day, but hopefully less of it is wasted while in the land of ZZZZZZZ's!

I was living in Glasgow the last time they tried it in 1968 and it was horrible - still dark at 8am for the drive to work and lightish at 11pm when any hard working Cat man should be tucked up in bed........!
