DISASTER!!!

Post #1 by Digga dan » Mon May 21, 2012 7:08 pm

We moved to our new house last Monday and a couple of days ago I got round to putting my new shelves up, this morning I found my new NZG hitachi 1000 long reach in AVENIR DECONSTRUCTION livery lying on the floor and on its way down it had taken one of my Joal cat 375's with it!!! Now I'm not too bothered about the damage to the 375 as that one wasn't in the best condition anyway but the damage to the hitachi was a lot worse, the counter weight had snapped off, 2 of the walkways on the cab side had snapped and the hand rails on the back had snapped off!! I've managed to glue all of the above back on but i cant however fix the plastic cylinder that's split down the middle on the second ram up on the arm!!! I've tried glueing it but every time I push the ram back in it just splits again! So does anyone else have any suggestions on how to fix it or does anyone know if I could get a replacement direct from NZG
cheers dan

Gutted for you mate

From what I have heard NZG are pretty good for supplying spare parts. Send them an email or try going through DMB.

I always have visions of one of the glass shelves going in my display cabinet. :|

The thing is it could have been a lot worse!! As two of my new CCM's are under it!!!
Yeah I think I read somewhere about someone contacting NZG direct for some track links and they helped out a lot, so I'l contact DMB in the morning to see what they say,
Looking at it a little closer I think it's bent the undercarriage slightly as well!!

The same happened to mine, it fell nearly 2.5m of the top of a cupboard and landed on the metal giudes of my lads scalextric track. The arm was not damaged but the body is twisted as the side door to the engine compartment doesnt align properly and the undercarriage has a 3mm twist in it. PROPER PISSED OFF

Yeah mine must of fell around 2m onto a hard laminate floor I'm gutted, I only bought it about a month or two ago but with moving house I only managed to display it a couple of days ago! I might buy another in the same livery and then paint this one a custom livery so I suppose not alls lost, and like I said it could have been a lot worse!!!
