Thwaites nimbus
Hi everyone. Newby here . So I've just bought a thwaites nimbus not sure of year but around 60s me thinks. When I bought it the half shaft has been damaged so I need to know if these are still available and the brake shoe housing as this has been lost by previous owner . Any help would be grateful . Ken

Re: Thwaites nimbus
Welcome to the Forum. It is a very helpful one but sometimes it takes a little time for the right bloke to log on and help but it will happen. Have you found any id tags anywhere on your dumpy? Type of engine and serial number as this can help date it. There is a supplier of parts in the UK and there is also workshop manuals available online using google and free. Make and model number will help reduce the options down to your one.
Hopefully you will get your answer and soon.
Cheers John

Hi Ken and welcome to the forum
somebody on here should be able to give you the advice you are after; have a browse through the dumper threads you may find that the information id already on here, if I remember correctly I'm sure that somebody on here posted that Thwaites themselves are very helpful so that may be a starting point.

Re: Thwaites nimbus
Hello everyone,
I own a Thwaites Nimbus and am looking for tie rod ends / ball joints for the steering. When I measure the right-hand and left-hand threads on the tie rods, I get the following dimensions:
Outer diameter: 19.05 mm
Pitch: 1.5875 mm
Does anyone have any idea what type of ball joints these are and where I can get spare parts? Are they tie rod ends with a 3/4"-16 UNF thread?
Many thanks and best regards
