I would look around scrap yards,don't know if there are many in Oz. I think your cheapest bet it to search the scrappies.Hopefully you may get one close to what you need,perhaps with a little modification.
This old country of ours is full of "junk" so we are very lucky here.

TBH Martyn I think it would be difficult to source 2nd hand in UK let alone Oz.

I'm wondering if the steering box from a Series Landrover would be a basis to conduct modifications from? Landrover Series parts are dead cheap from the likes of Paddocks....
