I refitted the injector without the washer, and after setting the spill point and she started up pretty easily once the fuel system was fully bled. Happy days!
The only issue I have now really is that it's hard to get the engine to rev. The governor is pushing the rack back to the right (away from the flywheel) hard, so you can't keep the revs up.
I set the spill timing at 20.6mm (13/16") measured from the calibration mark to the spot face on the pump body as per the manual, but I think I'll try setting it at 12.7mm (1/2") which I've seen others on the forum mention

After a bit of a battle getting the gearbox dipstick out of the gearbox, I dumped the oil out of the box so I could put some fresh oil in there.
What came out of the drain hole was pretty horrific! Firstly a cascade of brown water, followed by some equally brown sludge. I'm not sure I'd identify anything that came out as.oil!
I've sloshed a bit of diesel in there to try and dissolve what's left of the gunge at the bottom of the gearbox before I put some fresh transmission oil in...
I wonder how long a little Newage gearbox can survive oil a diet of water and brown sludge before any lasting damage is done??

The little Winget has been busy doing various jobs including moving logs, paving slabs, garden waste and muck shifting. Touch wood, apart from being a bit smoky, all seems to going well

Hi pal, new to the group, loved reading about your project, I have a 2S like yours, rough and ready with the same issue with removing one of the hubs and I still can't get her off! Apart from that she was all working until I lost drive, I took the top of the gearbox and the little plate that is connected to the gear lever was just sitting on top of the selectors, so I've bought a new one and hopfully will get around to fitting it this weekend, also what oils did you put in the gearbox and the front axle, as I drained them to put fresh in.
Cheers pal

Hi, I have a Lister Engine Winget 2S and recently changed the clutch. Next I want to check the Salisbury 5HA axle shaft bearings, change the oil seals and then restore the brakes. Can anyone let me know a part/OEM number for shoes that will fit I have not managed to cross reference the manual part number.
Many thanks.

I have not got any concrete advice but you might be able to source from classic car suppliers or possibly get them re-lined.
A quick Google indicates Salisbury became part of Spicer which in turn went to the Dana group.
