Question, those brass inserts that go into your pump that hold the bellows and guide the rack how on earth do you put them in so they stay in?
Probably a stupid question but id rather not screw up my pumps with this little detail
Thx,
Verdone

For anyone interested how to get those brass inserts to stay. You need to remove everything from the pump including the rack and then you press both of those brass inserts in on your vice. Then you need to enlarge your hole in the brass insert so the rack moves freely and you are done.
I will post a picture of my progress tomorrow, almost there to get it too start again!

Got her up and running but one injector was not playing well which was weird because i adjusted the pressure they open at a few days ago, opened it up and there was a tiny sliver of metal stuck in a injector hole and the needle stuck... Probably from the pump who had the desintegrated springs...
Hopefully i will be able to clean it all out and get her going on both cylinders.

Ok i got her running on two cylinders, was able to get all the debris out of the injector. Next fault is the oil restrictor which goes upto the rocker box is not letting oil through and according to the manual it is servicable but i can not get it apart. Anyone have any idea before i start fiddling with it more or replacement part?

Ok the oil restrictor is solved, i have oil in the rocker box now just need to check if it oils the hydraulic pump.
How did i get it open, i smacked the rear hole with a rond flat copper rod so i didnt damage it and the parts started moving so i was able to get it all out, cleaned it with gasoline put it back together and victory!
The only thing that bothers me now is i dont have a oil pressure gauge...
For anyone interested our first video on the engine rebuild is on YouTube.

Question, when you do the spill timing. Do you put the fuel rack in max fuel position with the overload stop?
Or do you put the fuel rack in normal running mode?

Not sure in this case but usually as much as possible. But if you're delivering a reasonable amount it'll work anyway. Don't do it near the stop position as that will be difficult or even impossible on the actual stop position.
