This excellent event is on today and over the Bank Holiday, well worth a visit, I will post photos of the event as soon as I can get them sorted and resized, here is a small clip of Rb Foy's Cat D9D being started up:
Here are a few photos from this superb event, I will try and post some more pics and some more footage too, many thanks as always to Mr. Jeff Slater and also to Robert Foy In todays challenging financial climate and with ever increasing tax and other financial burdens, many businesses and shows have suffered, but this event always goes the extra mile to make it worth a visit. The atmosphere there was a bit subdued this year due to the sad loss of Mr. Clive Hurt who suddenly passed away and who has supported this event particularly the plant working field with a variety of classic plant, the Hy-mac 580C which Tony Flint restored for him was placed near the main arena as a mark of respect. There was a fly past by a classic warbird, a Douglas DC3 Dakota that made three low passes over the event, again I will try and post a photo of that when time permits, for now, here is the first helping of photos.
A short clip of Rob Foy's Caterpillar D9D in action at the event shortly before it broke down, Rob knew that it was an unknown quantity so as to speak and although he has done much restoration on it, it was not known how it would perform, I got two clips of it in action, I may post the second clip where you can just see smoke coming from the back of the machine where the blades winch drive bearing had collapsed.
