Towing and Recovery pics

Post #1 by Jackblack » Sun Dec 14, 2008 9:50 pm

A few pics from when I was on recovery and breakdown work.
Iveco tipped on soft ground and one side just droppped, owner said he was about to scrap truck and just to get it back to his yard, cut the ram off with gas and lifted body back on and I drove it back to yard.
Scania concrete silo truck had to manouver on site and slipped.Straightforward winch out once we'd airbagged the front axles up and blocked them.
Got loads more, will post them as and when.

Straight forward rear lift on eight wheeler.
Builders merchant hiab lorry cut corner and got stuck, extended hiab off opposite side to take weight off bogged side and winched back out.I actually went out to this bloke about three or four times in a year alll down to how shall we say "drivers error"

I don't see many trailer dumps in the pictures here. This is a 1974 Brockway tractor and a Fruehauf dump trailer. It was dumping 28 cubic yards of bank run gravel. Some of the gravel froze in the back half of the trailer. It was about 15 degrees F that morning. When the piston hit the second stage it went over.

This is after we turned it back up. It wouldn't have been so bad if that concrete pipe wasn't laying right there.
