Just wondered what happened to this company.They had a few RB 22's on NCB sites in the 1970's in South Wales.Any photos out there ?

Martyn,
R & W became part of the British Crane Hire Corporation (BCHC) along with several other hirers in an attempt to 'cover the nation'. Caledonian Crane Hire up here was another hirer swallowed up.

Thanks for that information David.I remember all their R B cranes were painted black instead of the RB red on the lower half of the crane cab.

Fairly sure that at one time they ran some D8s and scrapers - would have been mid-sixty's.

Fairly sure that at one time they ran some D8s and scrapers - would have been mid-sixty's.

I thought they only had cranes Angus but obviously not here's an IH dozer and box of theirs at workThis Mack low loader new in 1966 later had it's livery changed to that of RK Crisp, an R&W subsidiary which did international and heavy haulage with depots in Birmingham and Southampton
