From France

Post #1 by Ignatius » Sun Jun 23, 2024 7:30 pm

Hello, my brother, my father and i collect dozers (some Cat, IH, Cletrac…) in France and we plan to come to England on july for the first time to see some summer shows. We’ll first go to the Welland Steam and country rally (Welland, Worcestershire) on saturday 27 and sunday 28, july and on the next week end, we’ll go to the Cromford steam rally in Derbyshire.
Hope we’ll see some crawlers on this shows. I know there are a lot of Cat or tractors collectors out there and i am wondering if we could visit them between monday 29 and august, the 3d. Thank you for your help.
Some pictures of our dozers.
Alexis

Welcome, I see you also have a Fordson Major and mounted PTO cement mixer. Always keen on Major's!

Hi and welcome  you have chosen very well, probably the best two shows that remain on this years calendar, Welland is the larger of them with plenty to see.

Thanks for your answer. Sorry, first picture is a D4C, 40A, made in France. And then it's a Cat grader 12, 9K, probably from the us army. Both are running. Yes, we have some Fordson ! very good tractors indeed. Here is another picture of the fordson :

Nice views, looks like an early one, can't tell for sure without seeing more though. Many lorry mounted cement mixers were powered by a Major behind the lorry cab, often on a Thames Trader making for two Major engines in one like a Triple-D. Nothing starts as well as a Major!
