Allis Chalmers HD11EP Steering hydraulics

Post #1 by dodgecharger11 » Wed Dec 03, 2025 8:27 am

Hi, I just joined this forum and have only been dozer operating for 4 years. A couple of days ago a hose blew up front left side which I think is one of the steering flexible hoses. My dozer is an old Allis Chalmers HD11EP, around 1967 build I think. The hoses onto the filters is fairly easy but down below going to the steering pump looks a bit more difficult. Does anyone know what the best approach is,through belly plate or lower sideplate cover, or both?

That requires some very specific knowledge, good luck. It looks a beast, what size engine?

Hi, its the original Buta tds516 cubic inch turbo diesel, still a great machine as its been looked after, I only use it for a bit of trail making and tree felling, I'm out in the country so have to manage most things myself, regards,Greg
