Pete, there is a local company to where I live called P Forkers which specialise in hiring out this type of machinery, they had a few machines based on old JCB Powerslide style excavators and a couple on old Hy-mac 580D machines but I think those have long gone now and only the JCB's remain, this is all to do with ground stabilisation.

This is piling for new houses and they have their own site concrete mixer on site. The latter looks like a unit from a truck but skid based at ground level.
