Yanmar YB351 - worth saving?

My old man has a yanmar yb351 mini digger that has seen better days. The engine starts and runs really nicely, however, it has a few major issues which are making us consider scraping it before it completely gives up the ghost. It is used infrequently on a small holding, however, part of the reason ...

Re: Thwaites Alldrive model and engine ID

So he was able to use a mini flywheel puller to remove the clutch, behind which we found a mouse nest or a squirrels store house as it was full of leafs and nuts. Couldn't entirely work out what was causing the stuck crankshaft but after a bit of a clean up things started moving again. The clutch ha...

Re: Thwaites Alldrive model and engine ID

Well I felt a bit of plonker for not looking at the photos properly and it's persisting down outside at the moment. Re: Thwaites Alldrive model and engine ID

Welcome Jack  the cylinder liner may just be salvageable with a good honing to clean it up, just depends on how easily you manage to get the piston out, good luck with it, I am lead to believe that Thwaites are very helpful with the spare parts. Jeremy Thanks Jeremy, I assumed most companies ...

Re: Thwaites Alldrive model and engine ID

Very nice little dumpy. What was the need for the strip down? If it was running usually they can be fully serviced with new oils and filters and clean fuel and away you go again. When it was running it didn't have a working handbrake so we removed the seat and some other bits to repair the handbrak...

Thwaites Alldrive model and engine ID

Hi all, looking for some help with identification of both the dumper model and engine ID. This is a project that I have recently started with my old man; he's the mechanic and I'm learning and doing the googling. The dumper was bought from eBay about 10 years ago and ran briefly before being parked ...
