Re: JCB 3 1963 - Where do i find a VIN Number to prove its age?

yes, there is no plate in the cab.

Are there any jcb experts out there who can help with this? I have tried speaking to a few people at JCB and so far no one can help or don't get back to me.

I now have the original reg number and who the first owner was.

thanks

Re: JCB 3 1963 - Where do i find a VIN Number to prove its age?

I have seen one of the a4 size aluminium plates on a 1964 machine but mine does not have one.

I have just put in a 1964 fordson super major engine from a 64 JCB 3C but I still have the old engine which I think is original to the machine.

thanks guys. I will have a better look at the skid.

Re: 1961 JCB 3

Re: Our old JCB, now deceased - What was it?

could it be a JCB 3 mk2? I believe they did change the 3 in 1964 to have the side steps & side entry window. changed the front loader arms & cab shape. very similar to the 2B I have came across a couple of these on my search for parts for me 1963 3 and they had the original identification pl...

Re: A nice JCB 3 project for Martyn

Mines the same, with additional plates & welds here & there, done some hard work over the years.
Just in the process of putting original style lights & mirrors back onto it. not the easiest things to come by.

Not planning a full restore. yet! :)
