Gearbox does have a filter yes, top side of the box, can only see it from underneath, always get a nice trickle down your arm when you change it.

I guess I have grown to love my 2010 eco, it could be improved vastly still! Jcb's biggest problem is that if they keep telling everyone and them selfs that they are the best they kid them selfs into believing that they are fault free and perfect! And past experiance shows me they don't take critici...

On the newer ones the lever is attached to a plate which then transfers down to the block, the nut and bolt which attaches these comes undone eassily.. I had a brand new machine and found after 20hours the lever had come off in my hand.... Never know the old ones may be like this? If not I'd be bend...

ohh so JCB dont do 3 pumps any more? I wondered why when i drove the 3cx at plantworx that when i was playing with the revs i couldn't hear the pumps clicking in and out! strickland buckets may well look like jcb buckets, but most of the parts are far thicker and the welding is much better. I only buy strickland from now on, spot on!

i have 2000hrs on jcb branded tyres now, slits everywhere and leaking on the rim, had to invent £70 in some tyre oko tyre sealant because no matter what the fitters tried it still kept leaking! hopefully cures it. As for pin wear , my current eco isnt too bad, always used blue grease and frankly not...

Tell me the lot number and ill take some better pics for you as I'll probs be goin up on Monday for a gander. Most the stuff is warranty returns or ex demo stuff and obsolete build parts it seems

If you find yor budget expands a little I have a thwaites 4000(2.5ton swivel) 1996 forsale but Id be after £1850 recent gearbox full rebuild and service. Odd litte drip of oil But works hard all day long!
