Re: 1989 3CX servicing - HELP

Page 151 of operators manual attached AWEM It looks just like my 1990 Grey Cab which is a 'project 7' Mine is machine number 360536 so if yours is close to that it's probably the same. Workshop manuals are impossible to find until you discover that the manual title is actually 'Backhoe Loader" ...

Someone save my sanity - JCB 3CX

:dizzy: How the heck do you get at the fuel level sensor on a grey cab JCB 3CX backhoe? 'up the wires' mine is measuring open circuit, so it's either bust or the wire's fallen off. Parts book implies it's on the top of the tank (logical!!) on the left - ie close to the fuel filler cap but the tank b...

3CX sensor locations

I am trying to sort out a few niggling problems with my project 7 grey cab 3CX but need a little help! For the life of me I cannot seem to get at the fuel gauge sender - it's in the top of the tank, but how do I get at it? Is it through the dash? Gauge not working so I want to test the sender - it m...

Re: JCB 3CX Electrics

Various minor electrics issues need addressing as the machine has been neglected by the P.O. however I have now got a photocopy of JCB publication 9803/3257 which pops up on ebay occasionally advertised as for a 1400B. Turns out that the same publication covers both the 1400B and the 3CX so I shoulb...

JCB 1400b & 3CX differences

Anyone know the difference between a 3CX and a 1400B JCB? Most 3CXs Ive seen photos of have rear stability leg that drop vertically, and are side shift, whereas most 1400Bs have swing down stability legs and are centremount, however I have seen pictures of centremounts described as 3CXs and 1400Bs w...

Re: JCB 3CX Electrics

Well I started with JCB head office in Rocester, but they insisted I deal with the local franchais, who are quoting £270 for a workshop manual !!!!!!! (plus VAT of course)

JCB 3CX Electrics

Has anyone access to a wiring diagram for the grey cab Project 7 1990 3cxs? I would appreciate a copy if anyone has - all reasonable expenses re-imbursed naturally. Ideally Id like to get hold of a workshop manual, but the only source Ive found so far is the local JCB dealer who wants almost what I ...
