Hi Steve
Four of Rochester,s finest PF65s with two being hauled by one of the pioneers of middle east transport Astran who are still in business and are based in New Hythe, Kent. They used to do a lot of freight to Iran as well in the seventies. One of the fitters I did my apprenticeship with used to drive for them and often told the story of being in Iran when the revolution kicked off and having to abandon the trucks out there and being told to take the first flight they could out the country

I remember when Smiths bought a BK90 from off the docks that was due to be shipped to Iran. It was fitted with the tropicalisation system to keep the system cool. Does any body else remember the system? It was located under the deck plate slightly to the left of the engine and to the right of the toolbox.
