Re: Great Dorset Steam Fair 2013
I wonder if the Flintshire council plate was the original one as a few bits including the plate were stolen from Freds place and his steamers a few years back
Can you remember this Ponty council roller Fred ? Hear that you are on the TD18 on Tuesday,Spoke to Barry tonight

Re: Great Dorset Steam Fair 2013
JR, I was working about 20ft from a sleeper cab Sed Atki 400 with a rear Vickers tag axle snoozing in a Barn, its in real good fettle with the L10 Cummins Spicer Box combo, I think the rear axle is Rockwell? not the "Group" thing, it would restore a treat, it has a slider plate and is down rated to save on RFL, I did the down rate thing about 15 or so years ago, this was just a bolt removeing thing on the slider with the holes blanked off.
tctractors
p.s. bring your hanky and I will let you play in the Cab, its just off J6 M5 the Farm is full of Gems it even has its own collection of old stuff and tack.

TC an L10 would make that a 301 not a 400, still have a look though when I'm around your neck of the woods next time.

Re: Great Dorset Steam Fair 2013
JR, you might be wrong on the 301 shot as its a 400 on the plate, I will double check the beast but its L10 and 400 in the solid??? the rear tag is a retro-fit Vickers outfit, this tractor unit used to lug around a Hiab Crane mounted behind the cab, it is a fair long wheelbase outfit, it could be yours??? the Farm is full of old iron, I think I counted 5 or 6 E27N Fordsons with the perkins engines in, there would be around a 100 old tractors scatered around the place.

Hmm the Cummins L10 engine was not around when the 400 series was in production so it's either a 301, 311 or a 400 that's been retro fitted with an L10?

Re: Great Dorset Steam Fair 2013
TC I was wrong about one thing; there is a chap in the North East called Les Baston who actually still runs a 400 series sleeper cabbed truck, although it has been heavily modified but is still recognisable, so that makes two of them.
