Graham's model cranes

Post #1 by gbarnewall » Sun Feb 20, 2011 11:17 pm

Hi guys,as I'm new here I thought I'd start sharing some photos of my collection,or repaints,I'll start off with a local Dublin crane hire company called Crane Hire Ltd,these have a striking red and black livery which looks amazing in the sun,I had a spare AC200 sitting gathering dust here so I fancied taking it on,I never researched at the time if CHL had an ac200,i just wanted a model with the livery, but only a few months ago now I passed an ac200 they own, sadly though as I never researched the real crane the model isn't accurate with regard to decals,

here are some pre-assembly pics

Thanks guys for the kind words, you're right a ballast truck would look great and top off the look too

@ John, you should just dive in and start on one of your liebherrs  ,my first was my LTM1200 which I painted a blue colour ;) 8-) ,Conrad models are nice and simple to take apart and put back together,NZG are slightly more fiddly as alot of parts are glued, the feeling of satisfaction you will get is great, and what you will learn doing it makes it well worth it,I had to do the tele section twice haha,as I aplied the paint too thick, don't be like me,be patient and don't rush it and it will pay off in the end 8-) 8-)
