Afternoon All

Post #1 by Weld&Bore » Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:35 pm

Hi All,

well im Phil, live in Shropshire and at the beginning of this year i started up a business with a good mate, specialising in on-site Line Boring & Rotary Welding. hopfully alot of you will be interested in what we do and if so you can check out the video on how the machine works and what it does at http://www.weldandbore.co.uk

We basically repair worn pivot joints on any machinery by boring out the holes bigger to make them perfectly round again and then weld the holes smaller than the pin or bush size, once we have done that then we bore it back out again to the correct size as if it was from new.

Be rude not to say it :shifty: haha, BUT if any of you would/could use our services as we travel all over the UK (not as yet but if the job was big enough any where out side the uk too) dont hesitate to give us a call or drop us an email. ive had a quick scan over the forum and i see some of you work for some plant hire company's and what not, it would be much appreciated if you could pass our details on :)

there's some pictures of jobs we have done in the gallery on the website but ill try and get some more up on the forum for you all to have a look at :D

interests... well all sorts of machinery that's big

Anyways the forum looks great, look forward to the comments and any questions you have on our great bit of machinery and ill keep having a look around CMN

Phil

Hi and welcome from me  :)
5 years ago i was on a Volvo A25D that had the dump body pivots line bored. And 2 years ago the boom base pivots were line bored on my Hitachi ZX350(theres a pic of it on here with no cab or boom etc).I found it a right eye opener the amount of work that goes into it all. :)
2004 Hit ZX350,9556 hrs
2007 ZX350/3,6000 hrs,now with just over 10000 hrs!!!

thanks for the welcomes :)

Hi Neil, yes its quite surprising how much work does go into repairing a joint, the machine we have is pretty impressive. when ever we are on-site doing a job people always stop and have a look what's going on haha :)

We did the 988G up at Raynes quarry earlier on this year, cab off & split the 1st day, got our line boreing team in on day 2 & we put it back together on day 3. A job not for the faint harted.
