JCB 3cx - White Cabs to Grey Cabs

Post #1 by jz145 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:16 pm

Hi there everyone, im Ashley, just joined the forum the other week! Im rather a JCB enthusiast, paticularly 3cx's of the 80's through to the 90's. Iv been in and around machines since the early age of four, and started operating around the age of 6, as so many of us did. I take so much pleasure in looking through photos paticularly of the Machines in the title, just wondering whether you forum members had any photo's of these machines, and whther you'd be willing to post, many thanks!

Hi Ashley

This is a link to a site which you might like http://www.rbunton.co.uk/vintage_jcb3cx.html

Like you I was bitten by the JCB bug as a kid too (my whole childhood was spent in the cab of a JCB 3DII). From the age of 21 driving duties of that same 3DII fell to me and from that I have added a 3D mark one, a 3D mark three, a JCB 1 (Gravedigger) and recently a 3CII. 3CX's are a bit on the young side for me but definately would be looking to add a Leyland engined red white and yellow 3CX to my collection at some point.

I'm very envious of you guys with space to play /buy / restore machines.
Its funny I'm very iterested in JCB's backhoe loaders but not from the 3CX on, except the very early ones.
Suppose the 4WD was a great step forward tho.
