S & J Demolition

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Sat Jan 10, 2009 9:58 pm

Hi Folks,

Well today I went down to Smethwick where S & J Demo were putting the finishing blows to an old factory complex.
I must at this point thank Steve and John Smith (John 345 ME) for permitting me to access the site to take these pics.
At first I thought that the lighting conditions were'nt going to be good enough to get some decent pics but apart from the cold things did get better and I ended up taking 141 pics with me digi camera from which the following shots came and about 45 pics with me 35mm camera so I'll have to wait to see how they turn out.
There was some interesting kit on site but the main demo on the day was down to their Samsung SE450LC high reach demo rig and a little Fiat Hitachi EX135 which John also used to clear rubbish from the site and create a stable path of hardcore for the 50 odd ton Samsung to get closer in to the building.
I intend to post a few pics here so I will be posting them in batches of around seven.
Thanks John for a great days photography.

Cheers John, kind of you to allow these to be shared with us all. Demolition's always fascinated me, although the practices have changed somewhat in the last 30 years, and no doubt for the better, safetywise at least!

Glad you like the pics John they didn't come out too bad really anyway here's some more. :)

Two more of the SE450 at work and a few of John using the EX135 to move some hardcore to make a pathway for the SE450.
