Hi
I am new to this forum and have joined up to find out if any of you knowledgeable people can help me with my dumper I have bought for a project.
I believe this to be a road machine (drayton) ltd dumper, I can just make it out on the plate at the rear of the dumper. From what I can work out on the internet this dumper was built between 1961 and 1967 but there is very limited information on the internet about these dumpers, it's more about the monorail road machine ltd use to make.
The dumper has a lister sr1 engine and a 40m pr Moters gearbox fitted to it. I have contacted the manufactures of the gearbox to see if this could pin point the year the dumper / gearbox was made, but they told me they don't keep records of gearbox's this old.
I am looking for any information anyone has about this dumper or general information about road machine (drayton) ltd. I was also wonder if there is there many of these dumpers around because I can't find any information on here or the internet or find any for sale else where.
If you want better pictures let me know
Your help will be greatly appreciated
Peter

Hi Peter and welcome to CMN good luck with your project dumper I hope that somebody on here can offer you a bit of info on it? Must say that I am staggered by the amount of dumper manufacturers that once existed; hope you enjoy the forum.

Peter.
In my experience you cant really hurt an old dumper only improve or scrap it, hopefully not the later, Have a look at my thread , Winget 4s and see how far we went with it, the light nights should see it back together, so keep at it and more pics as you go.

Something else that might help you date the machine is from the engine number. Some where on this great Forum is a list of engine models and year of manufacture. Providing this is the original engine this will give you a close idea to its age.
Welcome to the Forum and we like your project very much.
