Well today has been a bit of a nightmare too be honest.
First thing thing morning i was asked to scrape up some slop and re stone the road from which id scraped the slop. Everything was going fine until CRACK! "What the F**K was that?" I lowered the boom got out had a look at everythin....seemed ok started everything again and CRACK! followed with PING! and Splash! Turns out that th seals had blown on my dipper cylinder and cracked the bolt on end to the cylinder. Now the cylinder is totally out of its casing and the casing's end is shot to hell.

Ill try and get a better pic in the morning but i thought id share the one i took this morning amongst all the chaos.


Havent got a machine for atleast a week now soo im back on the dumpers and shovels for now

I was pretty lucky actually as the dipper didnt swing that muche as i just crawled it in low revs to where its parked now.
I have to say when i heard those cracks my heart did skip a few beats!

Our fitters are coming to take the ram off in the morning which should be a giggle to watch as neither of them have done this before! I think i shall take a back seat and watch the show haha.

One of the young fitters that came too assess the damage this morning actually said and i quote "Can you not still use it?" i mean how dumb are you when you ask that and mean it?

The fitter took the ram off last night and took it back to the yard. Ive been told today that it will be monday possibly tuesday before i get it back up and running.

Not to worry lots of lovely excercise too be done then. helps keep me in shape i suppose. I have too say i do quite like being on the ground having the banter with the lads i dont normally partake in when im on the machine.
