The Terex's first build took approx 4 months or so, after a show I stripped down the main super-structure and rebuilt it then put the stickers on it which then took a further 2 months.
The D9 on the other hand was a couple of days.
Those 2 aren't the only builds I have, just the rest wouldn't come in under the "earthmoving" tag.

Just trial and error. Some days you get a good run and you stay in the "zone" and and you look up at the time and 3 hours have passed, other days you get a mental block and don't achieve anything for the same amount of time, or worse go backwards. Had that problem multiple times on my most recent build, then once I had finished, realised I have totally stuffed up the scale I was working from. Looks fine, but is about 20-25% bigger than what its meant to be.
