Hi all,
Replaced the fuel filter this morning but cant get engine to fire. Battery has near enough died now so will charge it up overnight. Theres no manual fuel pump so I filled filter with new diesel, cracked the injector bleed screw and the injector pump bleed screw, both have fuel coming out but the engine wont fire? Worth cracking an injector as well? Fuel filter is seated correctly and looks to be no problems with that
Cheers,
Iain

Hi,
Cracked one before I totalled flattened the battery and there was loads of air coming out, going to crack them all tomorrow and see how it goes. Going to have to drain the fuel tank as the amount of crap in the old filter was shocking, dont know how it was still running.
Cheers,
Iain

Draining the tank is all for nothing if you don't remove the inspection plate on the tank and clean out the inside. The tank on a Hymac doesn't usually give that much bother with dirt because of the shape of it. Tandem fuel filters and sediment bowls should be all you need.

Theres no manual lift pump anywhere that I can see. My machine only has a single fuel filter on the offside, not the twin setup that I presumed it should have when I bought it.

what Leyland Motor ?? 6 98 I have owned had bleed screw on the block side of the injector pump you couldnt see and it was a real bugger to start if you didnt bleed it there as well this one had a lift pump though so Im guessing a different motor
