Very interesting pictures, Steve, thanks for sharing them. Looks like a suction dredger attachment on the one you are winching out of the lake.

Brilliant photos
Land & Water have some of those in their fleet but the upper Smalley excavator has been removed and a JCB 803 grafted ontop.

A 6808 amphibious shallow river dredger, incredible!! Never thought any of these would still be around. Excellent pictures, thanks for posting.

ONe of these machines (although locally modified) was at work in the 1970's on the Cromford canal restoration project.

Is it just me or does the design of the Smalley look like a zero tail swing 580C :dizzy:

Nice pics lads, welcome johnathan thanks for posting  :claphands:

Yes IBH you must of read my mind because I did think there were a few similarities to a 580C :geek:

Steve that looks to be a very interesting yard in the first pic, there is an old wagon in the background with a name that looks like Marston Beck on it, any ideas to this trucks identity? Looks like an old ERF to me? Would make a nice candidate for restoration. :P

I think it may have come from this fleet-they were taken over by London Brick Company in 1968
