A couple I missed,

Back end of the Case Lifeboat tractor. Note the steering wheel and capstan winch on the foot-plate.

Unknown scraper box. Note hydraulics.

Not really that far for me either. The capstan winch looks a bit dangerous!

The Case LA Roadless lifeboat tractors had very long lives in service some till the 70's.
Always very well looked after of course and not worked hard .
Not all those who wander are lost.

Hi David, Pete and Craig,
You missed a good day, I should have posted the info. and given you the opportunity to join us.
I have met lots of CMN members at these outings over the years and some have become good friends. Anyway it's good to be able to fit a face to the name.
As I said it's forty odd years since I last met Les Searle when I bought Allis Chalmers parts from him. At the time he had a lot of Allis's, Cats, and ex. American Army Osgood excavators all of which have gone now. There was also an American Leroi Fire Engine which is still there.

Sadly I have no pics of my Allis 21P, she was power shift and heavier and more powerfull, (260 hp),than the Cat D8 H of the same era era which was 235 hp.

Some interesting comments on the Case lifeboat tractor Craig, and as Pete says, the capstan winch is a bit exposed. Probably used with a hemp rope wrapped around it ??

Hello again,
On the way back from the Horsham trip we called on John at Hungerford. I only know him as John and he is a collector of AECs, here are a few pics.

And here are a few other things we found hiding in the undergrowth. :o

I had to add this one as I had one of these together with the four wheel drive version at one time, again I have no pics. :(

Not classic plant but produced by plant in a different era. Found it clearing out some ancient paperwork.
