I drove the demag h255s some 18 months or so after the show during my time with law mining. drove it for about a year before getting put on the first rh120e law mining had aswell. seem to remember the 255 had abt 9000 hours on it when i first drove it. my brother actually got it after me!

Still going strong Jimmy, 41000 hours and counting on it....... The 120E's are still going, i think this one in the pic must have been your mount........

Yes thats it! im sure the s/n was 1200001??? it was the prototype 120E. When i left it all those years ago it had a compressor strapped to the back of it to power a fireball greaser, because law wouldnt sort the hydraulic greaser that should have been on it. it also had a loft ladder in place of the main stairway you see in the pic! excellent machine ruined it was!

Worked for Law Mining at Darnconner North and also opened up Piperhill for them.Was there the time a new RH120 arrived on 5 trucks from Germany and that c##t Mick Murphy had totally forgoton to build and compact a hard standing area to build it on.We worked 36 hrs straight through with tractor and boxes and motorscrapers to dig a big cellar out and then backfill it with compacted muck before the Germans would allow their lowloaders on it.
There was no bonus that wek either!!

Still do a lot of work with the crew that had that Cat paver in the milenium dome.They thought it was a good machine and Cat threw all the extras in that was possible like fume extraction and all hydraulic adjusters on the screed but it was too large for the UK being 3.2 metres basic width which is standard in the US but requires special movement orders in the UK.The Tarmac Vogele super 1800 was one of five bought with high compaction sceeds one of them being an incline paver with extra equipment and baffles in the fuel and hydraulic tanks. It was to be used on landfill slopes to seal the tip using asphalt but Tarmac never won the contract it was bought for.The high compaction screeds were bought to lay porous asphalt as it was to be the next big thing in motorway surfaces the same as in the Netherlands .
