I'll throw this one in! I was visiting a friend in Lincoln and it was working in a "big" field opposite his house. A Cat D8, there were more letters but I can't remember them

No its not the twin lift rams missing as the twin lift rams are under the boom ... its the monoblock boom that looks weird ...

Its a horrible looking boom and also very rare as most of these machines had a two piece boom this is the first one I have seen with a monoblock boom You are quite correct the boom lift rams on these machines were located underneath the boom.

Hey guys
Thought id submit a couple of pics this month. First the latest machine purchased for the ABM plant hire restoration scheme

Same picture as Jeremys taken by myself showing weld strip on boom on the JCB 6D (Originally supplied 1968 to Smith Construction,Heckington,Lincoln) now residing in the Derby area awaiting renovation.
