I wonder what the biggest CAT shovel working in the UK quarrying industry is at the moment? There's a 988 used to load dumpers off the face in a quarry I work out of, if I can, I'll post some pictures of it.

Basilbrush,

The largest CAT wheeled shovels operating in the UK are the 992G. There are a small number of large sites with them. To this date there has not been any CAT 994 shovels worked in the UK, although some years ago there was talk of Glensanda super quarry using them to ramp up production over 6 million tonne/year.

There is a new 992K gone to work for Aggregate Industries near Leicester last week.

992G Hi lift is the Largest in UK, quite a few examples knocking about, a couple of large Komatsu's lurking too.......

Another pic of the YEOMAN 992, plus one from AMBROSE, also a couple at Blue Circle (now Lafarge).

I dont mind the 992G/K's, They are better to work on than the 994's. ...

Heres one with 54'000hrs on it and still chokes the crusher.
