Samsung 180 loader

Post #1 by Fowler VF » Sat Sep 04, 2010 10:53 am

Having a few problems with a Samsung loader, great machine, been very reliable. Lost drive on it now, we are pretty sure its not a mechanical problem, it seems to be in the electrics as the digital dash display for the transmission has gone blank. We have had an electrician spend several hours on it but the wiring is so complex (and has been fiddled with) that we just can't pin it down. Anyone have any ideas? Or better still where do I get hold of a wiring diagram for this thing?

Maybe a wire or connector has become adrift or a broken cable. Electronics fault ??Disconnect the battery, leave for a few minutes, then reconnect.Sometimes you may get a "spike" in electronic systems that will shut a system down.

What's the alternator putting out. Used to have problems with WA500-3's & WA600-3's, that would loose the lcd dash & drive if the alternators were starting to fail. Worth & try.

Sorted it now. Stupid little fault. The lever for the lift arms also has a little clicky gear change button on it (in addition to the main shift stalk on the steering column), right up inside the lever itself one of the wires had chafed and shorted out.

One of the those maddening things where an entire machine comes to a halt for the sake of something silly. Cost a fortune in down time and the eventual need to get in a Volvo fitter (Volvo took over Samsung) with the correct wiring diagram. And then they wonder why I love old machines with just big levers and no electrics!!
